HAVERFORD, Pa. – Senior forward
Kat Esposito (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) scored the game-winning goal 3:33 into overtime to give visiting Washington College a 2-1 win over host Haverford in a Centennial Conference field hockey game on Wednesday night at Swan Field. The Shorewomen are now 7-4 overall and 2-1 in the Centennial, while the Fords drop to 6-4 and 2-1 respectively.

How It Happened
- Washington got onto the board 7:20 into the first quarter as a pass from
MaryCate Anson at the top of the circle found the stick of Esposito and she was able to deposit it into the net past the right pad of the Fords' goalie.
- Following a violation in the circle by the Shorewomen, Haverford was awarded a penalty stroke and converted 6:04 into the third quarter on a shot into the left side of the cage to tie it at 1-1.
- The penalty stroke was the final shot of the game for the Fords.
- In overtime,
Samantha McMahon stole a clearing pass from Haverford and her shot from the top of the circle hit the left post, but Esposito was able to get to the rebound and put the ball into an empty goal to win game. It capped a streak of 10 straight shots Washington took to finish the contest.
