Chestertown, MD – Washington College Women's Basketball opens up their season with a victory over Salisbury, 50-39. The Shorewomen were led by Kaitlyn Boggs who was two blocks shy of a triple-double, and who set the newest program record for blocks in a single game with eight.

How It Happened
- The Shorewomen took the lead first with three minutes left in the first quarter. Kaitlyn Boggs gathered an offensive rebound and put it back up for two to take the lead 7-4 over the Sea Gulls.
- Boggs hit two more baskets in the quarter and the Shorewomen led 12-9 at the end of the quarter.
- Coming out of the break, Emma Robinson hit a jumper after gathering an offensive rebound and the Shorewomen extended their lead to five.
- Salisbury was able to take the lead once in the middle of the quarter, but a jumper by Abby Meredith and two made free throws by Abby Meredith started a seven-point run as they Shorewomen ended the half up 23-16.
- The Sea Gulls scored five times in the third quarter but could not shake the Shorewomen as they held their six-point lead going into the final ten minutes of the game. The Sea Gulls got within five of the Shorewomen but a layup by Karry Kelliher followed by Marcella Ortiz's jumper in the fifth minute of play put the Shorewomen back up by nine points.
- The Sea Gulls scored four more points in the game, but couldn't break the Shorewomen as Washington College took the game 50-39.
