BALTIMORE, Md. – Host #20 Johns Hopkins overcame a 14-7 deficit after one quarter to outscore visiting Washington College 35-11 in the middle two quarters on its way to a 61-37 win on Wednesday night at Goldfarb Gym in Centennial Conference women's basketball action. The Blue Jays are now 5-2 overall and 1-0 in the Centennial, while the Shorewomen are now 4-3 and 0-1 respectively. It was the conference opener for both sides.

How It Happened
- After spotting the host Blue Jays the game's opening four points, the Shorewomen scored seven unanswered to take a 7-4 lead with 4:48 to go in the first quarter on a
Emma Robinson layup.
- Tied at 7-7, Washington scored the last seven points of the stanza to lead 14-7 after one with
Abby Meredith netting a jumper with 47 seconds left to cap the run.Â
- In the second quarter, the Blue Jays would take the lead for good on a three-pointer with 5:09 to go to make it 17-15 as part of a 14-1 run to open the second to lead 21-15 with 2:30 left in the second. The home side took a 28-21 lead into halftime.
- Johns Hopkins scored 10 straight points to take a 40-22 lead with 1:39 to go in the third quarter on a free throw and led 42-25 after three.
- The Blue Jays outscored the Shorewomen 19-12 in the fourth to provide the final margin.

Kaitlyn Boggs (11 rebounds, eight points and game-high four blocks), Meredith (three steals)
- WC shot 23% from the floor (13-for-56), 38% from three-point territory (3-for-8) and 57% (8-for-14) from the foul line in the game.
- The Shorewomen turned it over 22 times and tallied 43 rebounds in the contest.
- WC outscored Johns Hopkins in second chance points, 10-9.
