CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Visiting Ursinus jumped out to a 31-19 halftime lead and held off a second half charge by host Washington College to nab a 59-57 win on Saturday afternoon in Centennial Conference men's basketball action on Finnegan Court at Penny J. Fall Gymnasium. The Bears are now 11-10 overall and 7-7 in the Centennial, while the Shoremen are 4-17 and 2-12 respectively.

How It Happened
- After the Shoremen tied the game at 19-19 on a
Davis Bland three-pointer, the Bears scored the final 12 points of the opening half to lead 31-19 at the break.Â
Mohamed Toure put Ursinus ahead for the rest of the game on a jumper with 7:35 left in the opening stanza.

Cole Grubbs scored opening bucket of the second half on a lay-in to give Ursinus its biggest lead of the game, 33-19, just 11 ticks in.
- Washington would go on a 13-5 run to cut the lead to 38-32 with 14:09 left in the game on a
Kedrick Frink jumper.

Zack Skrocki would make a basket in the paint with 6:13 to go to reduce the Ursinus lead to just two at 46-44.Â

Nick Nocito canned two three-pointers after the Shoremen got it to two to make it 52-46 with 4:29 remaining.
- Down 57-51,
Jason Zielinski netted a triple to cut the lead to 57-54 with 20 ticks to go.
- After Ursinus made two free throws in four tries to extend its lead to 59-54,
Jack Swider drained a three to make it 59-57 with two seconds left. The Bears went deep on the inbounds pass and
Marlin Rice ran out the clock to seal the win for the guests.
For The Shoremen (4-17, 2-12 CC)
- Frink (13 points, five rebounds and four assists),
Precieux Tshibangu (11 points), Skrocki (10 points and three steals), Zielinski (three steals)
- The Shoremen shot 38% (19-for-51) from the floor, 31% (8-for-26) from three-point range and 73% (11-for-15) from the foul line.Â
- Washington, who had just six turnovers in the game, outscored Ursinus in points in the paint (22-20).
For Ursinus (11-10, 7-7 CC)
- Nocito (game-best 17 points), Grubbs (11 points and two blocks), Trevor Wall (eight rebounds to lead all players),

- The Bears shot 35% (16-for-46) from the floor, 32% (5-for-23) from three-point range and 82% (22-for-27) from the free throw stripe.  Â
- Ursinus outscored WC in second chance points (12-4), transition points (2-0) and bench points (18-17).
- The Bears had 16 turnovers in the contest, while holding a 44-22 edge in rebounds.
