Frink Tallies 1,000th Career Point to Become 37th Shoreman to Reach Milestone

Green Terror Rallies to Edge Shoremen 54-51

WESTMINSTER, Md. – Washington College senior guard Kedrick Frink (Sunderland, Md./Huntingtown) became the 37th player in team history to reach the 1,000-point mark, scoring his milestone point with 17.2 seconds left in the game, but it was not enough as host McDaniel used a game-ending 12-3 run to produce a 54-51 win on Tuesday night in Centennial Conference men's basketball action at the Gill Center.  The Green Terror improve to 9-13 overall and 4-11 in the Centennial, while the Shoremen drop to 4-18 and 2-13 respectively.

McDaniel 54 Washington College 51

How It Happened
- Washington led 9-3 just 3:25 into the first half on a layup by Frink.
- McDaniel would grab its first lead of the game with 6:12 to go in the opening stanza on a traditional three-point play by David Kearney
- After a three-pointer by the Shoremen's Davis Bland trimmed the Green Terror's lead to 21-20 with 28 seconds left in the half, McDaniel's Chuck Contee answered with a triple with a second left to give the home side a 24-20 lead at halftime.
- In the second half, the Shoremen opened with a 20-10 run to take a 40-34 lead on a Bland lay-in with 12:12 remaining.
- The Green Terror responded with eight of the next 10 points to level the score at 42-42 with 9:06 left on a Carter Truby triple.
- Frink would score all six points on a 6-0 WC run to give the visitors a 48-42 advantage with 5:43 to go.
- Brendan Kade would start the game-ending run 31 seconds later with a pair of free throws to cut the lead to 48-44.
- Chuck Contee would put the Green Terror ahead for the rest of the contest with 2:06 left, 49-48.
- Trailing 51-48, Frink would net his milestone point on a driving layup down the left side of the paint with 17.2 ticks to trim the lead to 51-50.
- Contee was fouled with eight seconds left and made both to make it 53-50.
- Frink got fouled with 2.4 ticks to go and made the first to cut it to 53-51.  He tried to miss the second intentionally, but it never hit the rim and McDaniel got the ball back.
- Jonas Sujeta drew a foul with a second left, made the first free throw and missed the second.  Washington's desperation three was off the mark and McDaniel held on for the victory.
