FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Visiting Washington College and host Mary Washington split a non-conference softball doubleheader with visiting Marymount on Friday afternoon at the UMW Softball Stadium. The Eagles won game one, 8-0, in six innings due to the eight-run rule, while Shorewomen responded with an 11-2 win in game two.  The Shorewomen are now 2-1-1 on the season, while the Eagles are 1-1.
Mary Washington 8 Washington College 0 (Game 1 – Six Innings)
How It Happened
- Mary Washington took the lead in the bottom of the second inning when
Rayna Lloyd scored on a base hit to second base by
Caitlyn Burch with one away.

Emily Angel made it 2-0 when she plated
Shelby Presgrave on an RBI groundout with one out in the bottom of the third.
- The Eagles would bust open the game with six in the bottom of the sixth to win the game via the eight-run rule. With one out, Angel hit a sacrifice fly to right field to score
Hailee Danneker to cap the six-run outburst and end the game.
For The Shorewomen (1-1-1)
- Hitting: Kendall (1-for-1, walk),
Lilly Wenzel (1-for-2)
- Pitching:
Lexi Barnhart (loss 1-1, five innings, two hits, two runs, two earned, zero walks, two strikeouts)
- Washington committed zero errors in game one.

- Washington scored five times in its first trip to the plate to lead the rest of the way.Â
Neveah Unzueta tripled to right-center with one out to score
Hannah Solge to start the scoring. Unzueta and
Jenna Harper scored on an error to push the lead to 3-0.Â
Emmalee Cole hit a sacrifice fly to left to score
Gracelyn Goforth to make it 4-0 and
Shannon Rosche chased in
Lilly Cook on a two-out base hit to center to round out the scoring.
- The Shorewomen got two runs in the top of the third and fourth innings sandwiching a single run by the Eagles in the bottom of the third to lead 9-1.
- Mary Washington got one in the bottom of the fifth to keep the game going before WC added two in the top of the seventh to provide the final margin.
For The Shorewomen (2-1-1)
- Hitting: Cook (3-for-4, three runs), Rosche (2-for-3, career-high two RBI), Cole (two RBI), Unzueta (2-for-4), Solge (two walks), Goforth (two runs)
- Pitching:
Brynn Balliet (six innings, five hits, two runs, two earned, three walks, two strikeouts),

- The Shorewomen had 13 hits in the game, drew three walks and had one get on via hit by pitch as they left six on base.
