VERO BEACH, Fla. – Washington College totaled season-highs of 13 runs and 15 hits in a 13-5 win over Westfield St. on Monday at the Jackie Robinson Training Complex in a non-conference baseball game. The Shoremen improve to 2-8, while the Owls drop to 6-3.  Â

How It Happened
- The Shoremen got on the board in the top of the third inning with three runs.Â
Will Turner singled home
Ty Everitt for the game's first run and Turner scored on a triple off the bat of
Logan Yi to make it 2-0 with nobody out. With two outs,
Chase Ruppel scored on a passed ball to cap the three-run frame.
- In the top half of the fifth, Washington scored three times with one away to make it 6-0. Ruppel doubled home Yi to make it 4-0 and
Tahir Parker singled in both Ruppel and
Zach Stolze extend the advantage to six runs.
- Westfield St. got three in its half of the fifth to cut the lead to 6-3. With nobody out, Sean Clark doubled in both
Devin Slattery and
Justin Neidel for the Owls' first two runs. Clark came home on a two-out base hit by
Sean Clark and the lead was down to three.
- Washington responded with four in the top of the sixth to take a 10-3 lead. Turner scored on a squeeze play by
Nick Miller to make it 7-3. Ruppel singled home a pair as Miller and Yi came across the plate to extend the lead back to six. After an out, Ruppel touched the dish on a base hit by
Tahir Parker to give WC a 10-3 edge.
- The Owls got two back in the bottom of the sixth on a two-out home run by Clark that plated Neidel ahead of him.
- The Shoremen tacked on three more runs in the top of the ninth to provide the final margin.
For The Shoremen (2-8)
- Hitting: Yi (3-for-4, three runs), Ruppel (3-for-4, two runs), Turner (2-for-4, two runs), Everitt (2-for-5), Dardaris (2-for-5, two RBI), Parker (2-for-5, three RBI), Stolze (2-for-4), Miller (two runs)
- Pitching:
Alex Martin (win 1-1, two innings, zero hits, zero runs, two walks, three strikeouts)
- Washington had 15 hits, drew 10 walks and had three reach on hit by pitch while leaving 13 on base.Â
- The Shoremen had one error in the game, leading to zero Owls run.
For Westfield St. (6-3)
- Hitting: Clark (2-for-4, home run, four RBI, two runs), Neidel (two runs), LaSpada (2-for-3, RBI)
- Pitching:
Michael Hall (loss 0-1, 2 2/3 innings, five hits, three runs, two earned, three walks, four strikeouts)
- The Owls notched nine hits, drew eight base on balls and had three get on via hit by pitch as they left 14 on base.
- Westfield St. committed four errors in the game, leading to two Washington runs.

- Prior to today's game, the season-highs for runs and hits were six and 10 respectively versus Catholic in game one of a March 3 doubleheader.
