Softball Goes 1-1 In Kissimmee

Kissimmee, FL. – The Shoremen split in two five inning spring break games. They fell to Edgewood 9-0 and secured a win over Saint Joseph's 12-0 shortly after.

Game 1: Edgewood 9 Washington College 0

How It Happened
  • Edgewood went up quick and the Shoremen could never recover. Their Jenna Sanchez's single to left field allowed two runs batted in and the score to increase to 3-0 in the top of the first.
  • Lexi Barnhart had the first hit for the Shoremen in the bottom of the fourth. The next hit came from Chloe Trefz as she singled to right field to try and get something started for the Shoremen but the effort fell short.
  • The Shoremen held Edgewood off until the top of the fifth where they were able to score six more times to secure the win 9-0.

How It Happened
  • The Shoremen got started early, scoring three runs in the top of the first inning. All three were unearned, caused by Saint Joseph's errors.

Maddy Kendall batted both Cook and Barnhart in the next at bat with a single down the right field line. Kendall scored the next at bat thanks to a Lilly Wenzel double and an error by Saint Joseph's to put the Shorewomen up 7-0.
