Baseball Topped In Last Day Of Spring Break Action

Fort Pierce, FL. – Shoremen fell to Western Connecticut State 3-7 on the last day in Florida. The Shoremen went 3-5 on their spring break trip collecting their first win of the season against Lasell.

How It Happened
  • Western Connecticut was the first to score in the matchup. A Jesse Dunn two RBI single put them up 2-0 in the bottom of the second. Two at bats later another single allowed Dunn to run home. 
  • In the next inning, Ty Everitt tripled to put him in perfect scoring position for a Will Turner single to get him across home plate. The Shoremen were down 3-1. 
  • The Shoremen tied it up in the top of the fifth Tahir Parker singled to start the inning, Everitt singled to advance him to third. Parker was able to score on a passed ball and Everitt advanced to second. A Logan Yi single allowed Everitt to score unearned. It was tied 3-3 going into the bottom of the fifth. 
  • The Shoremen allowed Western Connecticut to score four more runs to take the game 7-3.

Pitching:  Ashton Mehler (loss 0-3, 5.0 innings pitched, 4 strikeouts)
