Zach Stolze (Towson, Md./Loyola Blakefield) delivered the walk-off hit, a double to centerfield with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning, to score freshman infielder
Dino DiMauro (Old Forge, Pa./Holy Redeemer) to give host Washington College a 15-14 win over visiting Eastern in a non-conference baseball game at Athey Baseball Park on Wednesday afternoon. The Shoremen are 4-13 on the season, while the Eagles, who had scored seven times down to their last out in the top of the ninth to tie it at 14-14, fall to 8-7.

How It Happened
- Washington led 14-7 in the top of the ninth and retired the first two Eastern batters before the Eagles mounted their rally.
Joe Paradise began the rally with a walk and the next hitter
Brian Lang was hit by the pitch.
David Hunsberger would double down the left field line to score Paradise and it was down to six.
Luca Marinucci would single to left-center to score both Lang and Hunsberger to clip the lead to 14-10. Three batters later with the bases loaded,
Trevor Harris doubled down the right field line to score Marinucci and
Elijah Kiernan and the advantage was down to 14-12 and would bring up Leyton Bamesberger as the potential go ahead run. Bamesberger would also double down the right field line to chase in
Gavin Weir and Harris and the game was tied. Bamesberger would get to third, but was left stranded as
Ryan Turzani grounded out to
Elias Philiposian at shortstop who get Turzani by a step.
- In the bottom of the ninth,
Chase Ruppel worked out a one out walk and was ran for by DiMauro. DiMauro would steal second with Stolze at the plate. Stolze would then drive a ball to deep center that went over the head of centerfield
Connor Schilling and allowed DiMauro to score the winning run.
- Leading 1-0 entering the bottom of the third, the Shoremen scored nine times to take a 10-0 lead.
Pete Kokinis plated
Reese Hirsh and
Cole McGee on a two-run triple to right-center to make it 7-0 and
Logan Yi capped the outburst with a three-run homer to right to give the home side a 10 run lead.
- The Eagles would score three times in the top of the fourth and once in the top half of the fifth and sixth innings to cut it to 10-5 before the Shoremen put a four-spot in the last of the sixth to lead 14-5 after six. Ruppel start the four-run bottom of the sixth with a leadoff home run to left.
- Eastern got a single run in the top half of the seventh and eighth innings to trim the deficit to 14-7. The seven-run lead would hold up until two outs in the top of the ninth.

- Washington had 17 hits, drew six walks and had two get on by a hit by pitch while leaving nine on base.
- The Shoremen made one error in the game, leading to one unearned run for the Eagles.
For Eastern (8-7)

- Pitching: Adam Venezia (loss 1-1, 1/3 inning, one hit, one run, one earned, one walk, zero strikeouts)
- The Eagles notched 14 hits, drew nine walks and had seven reach via hit by pitch as they left 15 on base.
- Eastern had two errors in the game, leading to four unearned runs for WC.

- Stolze was named the Goose Nation TV Shoremen Player of the Game.
- Kokinis was the first WC player to have two triples in a game since
Max Ruvo '22 had two against Utica on February 23, 2020.
