Swarthmore, PA – Washington College Baseball splits conference doubleheader with Swarthmore 10-7 and 3-13.
GAME 1: Washington College 10 Swarthmore 7
How It Happened
- Swarthmore went up first in the bottom of the second off a J. Shue doubled to left field.
- The Shoremen scored twice in the top of the third to go up 2-1. Logan Yi singled to center field that advanced Will Turner to second after he reached base on an error. Chase Ruppel popped up to the first basemen allowing Turner to score. Yi scored right after on a wild pitch, both runs were unearned.
- The Shoremen scored six more runs in the top of the fifth. One off a Ruppel double and two off a Zach Stolze double to left field, sending both Ruppel and Yi Home. Nick Miller then tripled to right center and allowed Stolze to run in. Two at bats later Miller stole home and put the Shoremen up 8-1.
- Washington scored once more in the top of the sixth as Turner singled down the left field line to send Drew Kinsey home who had doubled the at bat prior.
- The last run for the Shoremen came in the top of the ninth as Stolze sacrificed a fly to left field and sent Tahir Parker home who was pinch running for Ruppel who singled to centerfield on his at bat.
- Swarthmore would score three more runs in the bottom of the ninth but it wasn't enough as the Shoremen came out on top 10-7.

GAME 2: Washington College 3 Dickinson 13 (7 innings)
How It Happened
- Logan Yi set the tone for the Shoremen quick in the first inning with a single run homer.
- Swarthmore had an answer in the bottom of the first taking the lead 4-1. They then scored two more runs off an unearned homerun in the bottom of the second to go up 6-1.
- Pete Kokinis started the third inning with a single to right field. Drew Kinsey singled two at bats later advancing him to third he then scored on a Will Turner fielder's choice.
- Nick Miller doubled down the left field line in the top of the fifth. Elias Philiposi's sacrifice fly out to right field to send Miller home. The Shoremen would trail 3-10 at the end of the top of the fifth. They would not score again and end the game in seven innings down 13-3.
