CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Host Washington College swept visiting Alvernia, 3-0 (25-21, 25-22, 25-23), on Tuesday night in a non-conference volleyball match at Penny J. Fall Gymnasium. The Shorewomen improve to 6-4 overall, while the Golden Wolves drop to 8-3.

How It Happened
- In the opening set, the Shorewomen won the final three points to win by four points. Washington clinched the set on an assisted block by
Lindsay Saddic and
Lyndsey Wessel. There were 11 ties during the first set.
- The Shorewomen won six straight points in the second set to take a 7-2 on a Wessel kill. Wessel would also tally the final point of the second on a finisher.
- Washington and Alvernia were tied at 21-21 in the third set before the home side won four of the last six points to win the set and match. A service error by the Golden Wolves ended the contest.
