Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Shorewomen Conquer Mustangs 3-0

Owings Mils, MD – Washington College Women's Soccer conquers the Mustangs 3-0. The Shorewomen outshot Stevenson 23-9.

How It Happened 

  • The first goal of the game came curtesy of the Shorewomen. Kayla Streett's shot from 20 yards away flew in the air and was too high for the Mustang goalie as she tried to save it, but the ball soared over her glove and into the back of the net. The Shorewomen were up 1-0 in the seventh minute of play.  
  • Bridget Whiteside and Heidi Tine had back to back shots in the 12th minute of play. Whiteside's was out just high right and Tine's shot on goal was saved by the goalkeeper.  
  • Gina Phillips received a pass from Sophie Kilbride with a defender on her back just inside the box. She was able to turn towards the net and rip a shot past the last line of Setevneon's defense and right into the back of the left side of the net. The Shorewomen lead 2-0 with 24 minutes left in the half. 
  • Maddy Gaydon had two looks at the goal in the 23rd and 26th minute of play, one was saved in the bottom right of the net while the other was wide left. The Shorewomen outshot the Mustangs 15-2 in the half. 
  • Kaileigh Brady had the final goal for the Shorewomen in the 71st minute of play. Ava Loretz launched the ball in from the side line on a throw in and it made its way to Brady. Brady with a defender on her took one dribble and sent the ball throught the right side of the net with her left. This goal secured the win for the Shorewomen as they took down the Mustangs 3-0.
