Hutt-Robles Tallies Lone Score From McMahon

CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Junior defender Jam Hutt-Robles (Princess Anne, Md./Washington) scored the lone goal of the game early in the fourth quarter from junior forward Samantha McMahon (Bear, Del./Appoquinimink) to give home side Washington College a 1-0 win over visiting Widener on Saturday afternoon on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby Jr. Stadium in the home opener for WC.  The Shorewomen and Pride are both 1-2 on the season.

How It Happened
- Both teams got four shots off in the first two quarters, but neither side could dent the scoreboard with Washington goalkeeper Charlotte Schurman making two saves.
- The Shorewomen's first shot on goal in the game came with 5:37 into the third quarter by McMahon, but it was saved.
- In the fourth quarter, WC got the only goal of the game as McMahon's cross from the right endline was put in by Hutt-Robles on a reverse shot at the right post with 12:58 to go in the contest.
- Widener had its best chance to tie it with 9:15 to go on a transition play where the Pride beat Schurman with the shot, but Tara Radebaugh was there for the defensive save to preserve the lead.
- The Pride had one final chance to force overtime on a penalty corner with 15 seconds left, but could not muster a shot and the Shorewomen ran out the clock for the win.
