Chestertown, MD – Washington College Volleyball end their tri match 0-2 against Neumann and Stockton Saturday Afternoon. The Shorewomen took Newumann to five sets but fell to Stockton in three.

How It Happened
- The Shorewomen earned the first three points of the game and would hold the lead until the Knights got a kill putting them up 10-9. The Shorewomen would then trail for the rest of the set. They were neck and neck with Neumann, but the Knights eventually pulled out set number one 25-22.
- The second set had the same exact final score at 25-22. Neumann took the lead first in this set. An ace from Mary Miller and two kills by Giselle Kleinbussink gave the Shorewomen the lead at 14-13. The Shorewomen would go on a four-point run off two errors by the Knights sandwhiched by kills from Lindsay Saddic and Allison McKechnie. Two straight kills from Logan Kenny put the Shorewomen up 21-15. The Knights tried to come back and got within three but a kill by Lyndsey Wessel secured the set for Washington.
- The two teams spllit both the third and fourth set and would go to a fifth set to decide it all. McKechnie came out hot dishing out an assist and an ace to put the Shorewomen up 3-0. Two kills in a row and an ace put the Knights right back in it. The game was back in forth until the Shorewomen went on a four-point run led by Kasie Lynch's serves. A kill by Kleinbussink to put the Shorewomen up 10-7 would be the last point the Shorewomen earned for themselves. Their last three points came off Knights serving errors. The Shorewomen couldnt get a point back and fell in the fifth set to Neumann 15-13.

How It Happened
- The Ospreys went on a five point run 11-13 in the first set to take the lead 16-13. A kill by Giselle Kleinbussink ended their run and an error by Stockton brought the Shorewomen within one. The score was 16-15 until the Ospreys scored eight more to extend their lead 24-15. A kill put them over the Shorewomen 25-17.
- The second set was the closest of the match. The Shorewomen got out to a 10-5 lead but a kill from the Ospreys would swing the momentum away from the Shorewomen. A kill by Saddic assisted from McKechnie allowed the Shorewomen to pull away 12-8. The Ospreys quickly took the lead after three kills, two aces, and a Shorewomen error put them up 14-12. Colette Franck, Saddic, McKechnie, and Kleinbussink all aided the Shorewomen score with a kill, but it was not enough as the Ospreys took the second set 25-19.
- McKechnie was at it again leading the Shorewomen to a 7-1 lead to start the third set. She recorded two aces and one assist as Wessel and Saddic each added in a kill to help the Shorewomen. An attack error by Franck gave the serve back to the Ospreys and they would score four more points to bring the score to 7-5. The Shorewomen would not have a run again until a kill by Franck, an ace by McKechnie, and an Osprey error would bring them up 17-11 on Stockton. The defense could not stop the Osprey hitters as Stockton went on a three-point run to bring the score to 18-14. The ospreys were able to climb out of their deficit with the help of two Shorewomen errors and come within one of the Shorewomen 19-18. It was back and forth until the Ospreys secured two kills to win the set and the game 26-24.
