COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Host Ursinus saw its 11-point second half lead cut to one with 4:41 to go, but scored 12 of the game's last 19 points to hold off visiting Washington College, 75-69, on Saturday afternoon at Helfferich Hall in Centennial Conference men's basketball action in the conference opener for both squads. The Bears improved to 8-5 overall and 1-0 in the Centennial, while the Shoremen are 5-8 and 0-1 respectively.

Ty Woodland would give the Shoremen their last lead of the first half on a three-pointer with 9:48 to go in the first half on a three-pointer.
- Ursinus would score eight of the next nine points to take a 29-23 lead with 6:40 left in the stanza.
- Leading 33-30, with 3:50 remaining in the first, the Bears scored 10 of the next 13 points to take a 43-33 with 34 seconds to go before halftime and took a 43-35 lead into intermission.
- In the second half, Ursinus led 58-47 with 12:03 to go before Washington scored 15 of the game's next 20 points to trim the lead to a single point, 63-62, with 4:41 remaining on a Woodland baseline jumper.
- That's as close as the Shoremen would get as the Bears would respond with a 10-2 run to take a 73-64 advantage with 1:01 left.
- WC would get it within six on two occasions in the final minute, but could draw no closer.
