Shoremen Fall To Blue Jays 77-55

Chestertown, MD – The Washington College Men's Basketball Team fell to the Blue Jays of Johns Hopkins Wednesday night 77-55. They were led by Ethan Schwantes and Nolan Waldon with 15 and 13 points respectively.

How It Happened 

  • Hopkins led 11-4 five minutes into the first half of the game. A layup from Nolan Waldon put the Shoremen within six. The Blue Jays spent the next five minutes uncontested on offense recording a 10-0 run until Ethan Schwantes made a layup to put the Shoremen within 13, 21-8. 
  • The rest of the half was neck and neck with scoring as the Blue Jays scored 17 to the Shoremen's 16. Ryan Lang led the way for the Shoremen scoring six points. The Shoremen trailed 37-25 heading into halftime.  
  • Nolan Waldon started the scoring off for the Shoremen in the second half after Ty Woodland collected a defensive rebound and the Shoremen were within 10, 37-27.  
  • A Nicho Simes layup from Waldon put the Shoremen within nine with 18 minutes left in the half. That would be the closest the Shoremen could get to Hopkins. The Blue Jays went on a 38-25 run to end the half over the Shoremen 77-55.
