CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Host Washington College converted a penalty kick in the 12th minute for the only goal of the game in a 1-0 win over visiting Johns Hopkins on Saturday night on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium in Centennial Conference men's soccer action. The Shoremen are 4-5-4 overall and 1-1-3 in the Centennial on the season, while the Blue Jays are 3-6-5 and 1-2-2 respectively.

How It Happened
- Washington earned the penalty kick as
Simone Perin was tripped up in the box by a Johns Hopkins defender after his initial shot was saved.
Tyler Davidson took the penalty and deposited it into the left side of the goal to make it 1-0 with 33:05 to go in the opening half.
- The Shoremen took a 1-0 lead into the second half.Â
- In the 78th minute, the Blue Jays had their best chance to tie the game on a counter, but WC goalie
Hannes Budde came out and stopped the shot.
- Johns Hopkins got two shots off the rest of the way, but neither were on target and Washington came away with its first Centennial win of the season.
