Washington College 2 #23 Johns Hopkins 1

How It Happened

  • The Shorewomen had the first shot of the game, 38 seconds into the first half. Bridget Whiteside's shot was high over the net.
  • Johns Hopkins outshot the Shorewomen 15-1 in the first half but the score remained 0-0 at the conclusion of the first half.
  • Two minutes into the second half, Johns Hopkins went up 1-0 as they scored off a penalty kick.
  • Sophie Kilbride had her look at the goal in the 57th minute of play. Her shot was low and left and saved by the Hopkins goalie.
  • Whiteside tied the score, 1-1 with 30 minutes remaining in the game. Her shot came off a free kick right outside of the 18. The Hopkins defenders lined up right in front of Whiteside and she was able to keep the shot low and sent it under the defenders as they jumped to block the ball.
  • Lily Barnum put the Shorewomen up for the first time in the game. Kaileigh Brady had the ball in the middle of the field and passed it up to the left to find Barnum who broke past the Hopkins' defenders and was in a one-on-one with the goalie. Barnum took the shot before the goalie could grab the ball and hit the left side of the net. The Shorewomen were up 2-1 with ten minutes remaining.
  • Johns Hopkins took one more shot, but goalkeeper Olivia Allen, made sure it didn't go in as the Shorewomen took the game, 2-1.
