Shorewomen Sweep Immaculata In Non-Conference Match

Immaculata, PA- The Washington College Volleyball team sweeps Immaculata in a non-conference matchup, 25-14, 25-18, and 25-17.

How It Happened 

  • The Shorewomen started the first set up, 2-0. Immaculata began to inch in on the lead but kills by Gianna Folke and Anna Titter made sure they didn't get too far ahead as the score sat at 5-5. The sore was tied at 6-6 when the Shorewomen began to pull away. They went on a 20-8 run and had three stints of multiple unanswered points in a row. Giselle Kleinbussink led the pack with four kills. The Shorewomen took the first set, 25-14.  
  • Immaculata scored the first point of the second set. The Shorewomen answered with seven unanswered points to go up, 7-1. Alexis Stubbs served up two service aces during the run. Immaculata scored one point and Lyndsey Wessel had the answer laying down a kill. The Shorewomen moved the score to 11-2. From there the points were back and forth until Immaculata scored three in a row to put the score at 19-13 still in favor of Washington College. Izzy Diehl laid down a kill to put the Shorewomen at 20, but Immaculata scored another three unanswered. Diehl stopped their run again with a kill and Gianna Romano served up an ace to put the Shorewomen ahead 22-16. An Anna Titter ace and kill by Kleinbussink put the set away for the Shorewomen, 25-18.  
  • The score was 4-4 to start the third set. Two attack errors and an ace by Kaysie Lynch put the Shorewomen ahead 7-4. Immaculata scored two in a row and the Shorewomen answered with four of their own, 11-6. The Shorewomen led the rest of the set, 14-11. Wessel and Folke each recorded two kills during the run. The Shorewomen took the third and final set, 25-17.

Up Next 
The Shorewomen are back in action on October 15th as they travel to Westminster, MD to take on conference opponent McDaniel at 7 PM.
