Washington College 1 #19 Haverford 2

How it Happened

  • With four minutes remaining in the first period, Emma Campbell entered the ball off a penalty corner. Natalie Watkinson took a shot right outside of the arc that was blocked. Julia Weglarz took a shot immediately after, which was saved by the Haverford goalie. Then MaryCate Anson took a third shot for the Shorewomen, but her attempt was wide right of the goal.
  • The second shot for Anson came in the second period off another Shorewomen corner entry. Her shot was right in front of the goal and was saved by the Haverford goalie.
  • With 2:41 remaining in the second period, Anson received a corner entry from the top of the arc from Campbell. Anson dribbled around the arc to the right side of the goal where she crossed the ball to Campbell who was on the back post. Campbell was able to tap the ball into the back of the net and put the Shorewomen ahead 1-0 heading into halftime.
  • Haverford tied it up, 1-1, ten minutes into the third period.
  • The Shorewomen opened up the fourth period with back-to-back shots by Samantha McMahon and Campbell, both weren't able to make it past the Fords' defense. The score remained tied, 1-1 as the game went into a ten minute overtime.
