COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Visiting Washington College improved to 4-1 in Centennial Conference play with a 3-1 (25-18, 22-25, 25-16, 25-22) victory at host Ursinus in a Centennial Conference volleyball contest on Saturday afternoon at Helfferich Hall. The Shorewomen improved to 18-5 overall and 4-1 in the conference, while the Bears fell to 5-13 and 0-5 respectively. With the result, the Shorewomen continue their best start in CC play in 31 years, when the squad opened CC play at 5-1.    Â

How It Happened
- Down 17-14 in the opening set, the Shorewomen flipped the set with an 11-1 to grab it by seven points with a service error by the Bears ending the opening set.
- Ursinus leveled the match at a set apiece by winning the final three points after it was tied at 22-22. A hitting miscue by Washington was the clinching point for the home side.
- In the third set, WC led 18-15 before going on a 7-1 run to finish off the third and win by nine. An attack error by Ursinus ended the third.
- The two sides were even at 21-21 in the fourth set when the Shorewomen closed out the contest with four the final five points for the three-point victory.
