How it Happened
- Johns Hopkins scored first with five seconds left in the first period.
- The first shot for the Shorewomen came with seven minutes left in the second period. Tyler Rice had a shot on the left side of the goal. Her shot went straight into the Hopkins goalie, but the Shorewomen earned a penalty corner right after.
- Emma Campbell entered the corner into Laney Erickson who took a shot. Erickson's shot was deflected and ended up wide right of the goal.
- The Shorewomen were outshot 13-2 in the first half, with goalkeeper Charlotte Schurman working hard with six saves to keep the Hopkins lead to only one.
- In the third period, MaryCate Anson entered a ball into a wide open Madison Maguire. The ball bounced up and hit between Maguire and the Hopkins goalie resulting in another save for the Hopkins goalkeeper.
- With 2:24 left in the third, Anson dribbled the ball into the crease and attempted to sneak a shot by the goalie into the left side of the net, the ball was saved, but the Shorewomen were awarded another corner. Campbell entered once again to Natalie Watkinson who passed the ball into Samantha McMahon who tried her hand at the goal, but her shot was blocked.
- Anson had one more shot in the third period, but could not get it into the back of the net. The shot was again blocked keeping the score at 1-0 heading into the final period.
- With 8:55 left in the final period, Anson served a pass up to Campbell who sat on the left post of the goal. Campbell looked to get the ball just past the goalie's stick but was denied.
- The Shorewomen end the game with zero on the board, but hold #2 Hopkins to a 1-0 game. Schurman put on a clinic in goal recording 11 saves against 22 shots.
