CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Host Washington College scored twice in the first half and fended off a late charge from Swarthmore to come away with a 2-1 win on Wednesday night on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby Jr. Stadium on Wednesday night in a Centennial Conference men's soccer contest. The Shoremen are now 5-6-5 overall and 2-1-4 in the Centennial, while the Garnet are now 5-5-5 and 1-3-3 respectively.

How It Happened
- Washington struck at the 9:38 mark of the first half as
Walker Patino's shot from 25 yards out from the left side went into the lower right corner of the goal to take the 1-0 lead with
Ethan Watson picking up the assist.

Yasir German scored what proved to be the game-winning score with 25:52 to go before halftime as he received a pass from
Tucker Sprano and from about six yards not far from the end line was able to slot it into the lower left corner from the right to make it 2-0 Shoremen.
- Swarthmore trimmed lead to 2-1 with 5:54 left on a second chance shot from the goal mouth after the first shot by the Garnet hit the crossbar.
- The Garnet's final chance came in the waning seconds, but Patino blocked the final chance and the Shoremen walked away with the win.
