Chestertown, MD - The Washington College women's swimming team will open up its season at Gettysburg as they will compete against four other conference teams, host Gettysburg, Bryn Mawr, Johns Hopkins and McDaniel.
Last Season:
The Shorewomen return after a 10-4 season, 4-3 in conference action. Notable wins for the Shorewomen include a 144-111 victory over the Red Devils of Dickinson and a 147-108 victory over York. The Shorewomen finished sixth of eight teams in the Centennial Conference Championships.
Returning for the Shorewomen:
Sophomores, Julia Banker and Brooke Bailey return for the Shorewomen after a record setting first season for the pair. Bailey set school records in the 100 and 200-yard backstroke events and the 200 individual medley. She was also the 2025 Team Most Valuable. Banker set a school record in the 400 individual medley last season and has the second fastest time in school history in the 100 individual medley and 200 backstroke.
From Head Coach James Koval:
"Despite a smaller than average roster, the Shorewomen have an exciting mix of youth and experience that will serve as a great foundation for the team for years to come. First year, Ellie Seip, Sophomore Julia Banker, and other young swimmers have been training extremely well, while we have great leadership and wisdom from our captains Lauren Paules and Gabby Bonds."
Key Meets:
The Shorewomen open up competition facing Bryn Mawr, Gettysburg, Hopkins and McDaniel. After that they will travel to Dickinson on November 1 and then host Swarthmore at home on November 8 at 11 AM. They will host York the week after, November 15 at 1 PM.
