Chestertown, MD- The Washington College Volleyball team battled with Franklin & Marshall, but gave up three sets, 25-20, 25-10, and 25-16.

How It Happened
- Franklin & Marshall came out hot going a quick 7-2 over the Shorewomen, forcing the Shorewomen to call a timeout. Izzy Diehl laid down a kill right out of the break to move the score to 7-3. Franklin & Marshall was up 15-5 before the Shorewomen had to call their second time out of the set. The Score was 18-8 and the Shorewomen still trailed, a kill from Lyndsey Wessel followed by a kill from Allison McKechnie put the Shorewomen down eight. An attack error and then a kill from Giselle Kleinbussink moved the score to 18-11 and forced the Diplomats to call their first timeout. The Shorewomen scored immediately out of the timeout and were down six, 18-12. Franklin & Marshall went on a 4-1 run to go up 23-13 over the Shorewomen. The Shorewomen went on a 7-1 run to try and steal the lead from F&M. Diehl and Emma Shaner each put down two kills before the Diplomats put it away with a service error by the Shorewomen. F&M took the first set, 25-20.
- The Shorewomen were tied with Fraklin & Marshall 4-4 at the beginning of the first set. F&M went on a 5-1 run to force the Shorewomen to call a timeout when the score was 10-5. The Shorewomen were only able to lay down two kills by Emma Shaner and Kaysie Lynch as the Diplomats scored six more points. The Shorewomen called their second timeout at 16-7. The Shorewomen only scored three more times with kills from Bethany Haughton and Addison Carr and a service ace from Alexis Stubbs. The Diplomats took the second set, 25-10.
- The third set had even scoring until the score was 10-9, Franklin & Marshall up one. The Diplomats went on a four-point unanswered run when the Shorewomen called their first time out. Wessel had the first point for the Shorewomen out of the timeout to make the score 15-10. Shaner and and ace from Lynch put the Shorewomen within five, 17-12. The Diplomats laid down four kills in a row to come withing four points of the game, 21-12. Shaner from Lynch shot down a kill to keep the Shorewomen alive. Franklin & Marshall scored two in a row until an attack error gave the ball back to the Shorewomen. McKechnie followed that point up with a kill. The score was 23-15 and a kill by the Diplomats created set point 24-15. The last point the Shorewomen scored was a kill from McKechnie and the Diplomats answered with a kill of their own to put the set away and complete the sweep.
