Shoremen Keep Springfield Away For Fifth Straight Victory

Chestertown, MD– The Washington College Men's Basketball battled against Springfield, 75-71. There were nine lead changes with the highest lead of the game being for the Shoremen with seven points.

How It Happened 

  • The Shoremen held a 32-29 lead at the half. Ty Woodland earned nine with Davis Bland and Jaedon Harris each adding in five.  
  • Springfield scored back-to-back coming out of the half to tie it up, 32-32. The score was even until Ryan Lang sunk a three pointer to move the score 41-39. 
  • With 13:26 to play, Harris stole the ball and passed it up to Jon Nalty who made a fastbreak layup to put the Shoremen up four, 45-41. Springfield tied it up less than two minutes later.  
  • With 6:38 left in the half, Nalty sunk a three-point shot to put the Shoremen ahead 56-51.  
  • It was all tied up, 60-60 with 2:58 to play. The Shoremen took the lead with a Woodland jumper and never looked back. Springfield had to begin to foul to earn the ball back in hopes to score. The Shoremen made their free throws down the stretch and took the game, 75-71.
