How It Happened

  • The Shorewomen trailed 20-7 with less than a minute remaining in the first quarter. With 40 seconds left, Kaitlyn Boggs passed the ball to Amaya Cash on the left side block. Cash found Sarah Oleary who sat wide open on the right side block. Oleary sunk a layup to put the Shorewomen within 11.
  • At the buzzer, Boggs scored a drop step layup and was fouled, putting her on the line to shoot one free throw with 0:00 remaining in the first period. The free throw was no good, but the Shorewomen ended the period on a 7-3 scoring run.
  • Taylor Shane scored a three pointer to start the scoring for either team in the second period. The Shorewomen were down six, 20-14.
  • The team was scoreless until 2:40 left in the half. Abby Meredith scored five, Shane scored two, and Emma Robinson scored one free throw to end the half on a 7-2 run. The Shorewomen still trailed, 37-21.
  • The Shorewomen outscored The Profs 15-5 in the third period. The Shorewomen ended the third down six, 42-36.
  • Boggs opened up the scoring in the final period. The Profs were up by 14 halfway through the period. Back-to-back points by Meredith and Robinson moved the deficit to nine, 53-44. That would be the closest the Shorewomen could come as the game expired as they were down 10, 63-53.
