ARLINGTON, Va. - The Washington College Baseball Team dropped their season opener to the Marymount University Saints, 15-6. The Shoremen had three runs in the top of the eighth, but gave up seven in the bottom of the inning.

How it Happened:Â
- After being down 1-0 to start the second inning, Zach Stolze hit a homer for a game tying run. The Shoremen got three quick outs to end the inning, 1-1.
- Marymount scored one run in the fourth inning and two in the fifth to extend their lead 5-1.
- The Shoremen did not post another run until the sixth inning, where Drew Kinsey was batted in by Reese Hirsh to bring the score back 5-2.Â
- The Shoremen scored three runs in the eighth inning with Chase Ruppel hitting a two run homer, sending Kinsey to score and Stolze scoring off of a wild pitch. The Shoremen were still down, 8-5.Â
- Marymount scored seven runs in the eighth inning to take command of the game at 15-5.
- One more run was scored by Washington College in the top of the ninth by Luke Herz off a throwing error as the Shoremen fell 15-6.Â
