Schwantes Scores Team-Best 19 Points

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Host Muhlenberg outscored Washington College 47-37 in the second half to come away with a 75-66 win over visiting Washington College at Memorial Hall in a Centennial Conference men's basketball game on Saturday afternoon.  The Mules improved to 9-14 overall and 2-9 in the Centennial, while the Shoremen dropped to 7-16 and 2-9 respectively.

How It Happened
- Washington raced out to an 18-6 lead in the first seven minutes of the game, capping the opening run on a Precieux Tshibangu jumper.
- Muhlenberg answered with a 13-0 run to take a 19-18 lead with 7:31 to go on a layup.
- The Shoremen would outscore the Mules 11-9 the rest of the half to take a 29-28 lead into halftime.
- Leading 42-39 with 14:32 to go in the second half, Muhlenberg scored 21 of the game's next 26 points to take a 63-44 advantage with 6:24 left in the game.
- The Shoremen would get it within seven, 65-58, with 3:10 left on a Schwantes layup, but could draw no closer as the Mules held on for the nine-point victory.

For The Shoremen (7-16, 2-9 CC)
- Schwantes (19 points and seven rebounds), Nolan Waldon (12 points), Tshibangu (11 points), Davis Bland (10 points), Ryan Lang and Nicho Simes (three assists)
- Washington shot 44% (24-for-55) from the floor, 32% from three-point range (6-for-19) and 71% from the foul stripe (12-for-17).
- The Shoremen had 31 rebounds and 11 turnovers in the game.
- WC outscored Muhlenberg 31-5 in bench points, 6-2 in second chance points and 22-20 in points in the paints.
- Schwantes averaged 23 points per game in the two contests versus Muhlenberg this season.
