Chestertown, MD - The Washington College Men's Lacrosse Team opened up their season with a win over Barry College, 12-6. The Shoremen were led by Nate Winters with three goals.

How it Happened  

• Nate Winters scored the first goal of the game, assisted by Grant Matthews, for either team four minutes into the first quarter.  
• Logan Trombley scored next pushing the Shoremen lead to 2-0. Berry was able to score their first goal three minutes later to put themselves on the scoreboard.  
• Winters was able to score yet again after he collected a ground ball after his fist shot attempt was saved to end the quarter for the Shoremen up 3-1.  
• Cory Morgan scored with nine minutes remaining in the second quarter to put the Shoremen up three, 4-1. Berry followed that goal up with one of their own four minutes later. Nicky Bond had two shots on goal with two minutes remaining in the half, the second went in for a 5-2 Shoremen lead. Almost 30 seconds later, Berry scored on a man up goal to move the score to 5-3 heading into halftime.  
• Nearly five minutes into the third quarter, Berry scored their fourth goal of the game to come within one of the Shoremen. The Shoremen had an answer scoring three goals in two minutes to double Berry's score 8-4.  
• Reeve Hargrave and Tom Merritt got the scoring started in the final quarter of the game. Hargrave's goal was a man up and assisted by Parker Barta. Colin Gray recorded five saves in the final quarter holding Berry to only one more goal as the Shoremen were able to score twice more and secure the first win of the season, 12-6.
