LANCASTER, Pa. – The Washington College women's swim team placed sixth out of eight teams at the 2024 Centennial Conference Swimming Championships, hosted by Franklin & Marshall held Thursday night through Sunday evening at McGinness Pool inside the Kunkel Aquatics Center. The Shorewomen set three school records over the four-day event.
2025 Centennial Conference Championships
School Records
- Brooke Bailey set a pair of Shorewomen Swimming records at the championships. She set the school record in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:08.65 and earned a 10th place finish in the event on Friday night. Bailey broke the mark previously held by
Jenni Clune '18, who had a time of 2:09.90 in 2017. On Saturday, Bailey won the B Final for a ninth place result in the 100 backstroke with a time of 58.78 to set the school record which was previously held by
Ellen Maxwell '17 who had a time of 59.62. Bailey netted her best overall finish of the weekend on Sunday night in the 200 butterfly of fifth place, touching the pad in 2:08.89 which puts her third all-time at Washington in the event.

Julia Banker improved on her school record time in the 400-yard individual medley on Saturday evening with a time of 4:37.29, besting her mark by 1.4 seconds which was set back in November in the same pool. She won the B Final and earned a ninth-place finish in the event. On Sunday night, the freshman placed 11th in the 200 backstroke (2:10.47) and moves up one spot to second all-time at WC.
Shorewomen Top Individual Performers

Kylee Smith had an eighth place finish in the 200 butterfly (2:10.30) and a ninth place finish in the 100 butterfly (58.01), winning the B Final in the process.

Vanessa Fry earned 10th in the 100 breaststroke in 1:09.61 and 12th in the 200 breaststroke in 2:33.24.

Sarah Foglia was 12th in the 1650 freestyle, completing the race in 19:30.04.

Kenzie Gorman placed 12th in the 100 butterfly with a time of 59.30.

Anna Burrowes tallied a 13th place results in the 100 breaststroke (1:10.50) and 200 breaststroke (2:33.74).

Lauren Paules finished ninth in the 1650-freestyle with a time of 18:28.97, placed 15th in the 500-freestyle with a time of 5:16.96 and was 12th in the 200-freestyle (1:58.11).

Gabby Bonds secured 16th in the 200 backstroke (2:16.25).

Ayana Davis was 16th in the 100 butterfly (1:01.92).
Shorewomen Top Relays
- The foursome of Bailey, Fry, Smith and Gorman finished sixth in the 200-yard medley relay in 1:49.88 on Thursday evening.
- In the 800 freestyle relay, the team of Bailey, Gorman, Paules and Smith took fifth in 7:57.58 on Thursday night.
- In the 400 medley relay on Friday night, Banker, Fry, Davis and Paules finished fifth (4:05.26) with Banker's leadoff time in the backstroke portion of the event of 1:01.53 putting her tied for ninth all-time in team history in the 100 backstroke.
- Gorman, Bailey, Paules and Smith guided the Shorewomen to a fifth place finish in the 200 freestyle relay (1:39.57) on Saturday evening. Gorman's time of 24.83 leading off is a personal best and stays in 10th place all-time in team history.
- Bailey, Gorman, Paules and Smith garnered a fifth-place result in the 400 freestyle relay (3:35.50) with Bailey's leadoff time of 53.81 placing her ninth all-time in the 100 free on Sunday night.
Notes
- #T8 Swarthmore won the event with a championship record 1,017 points followed by #20 Gettysburg who notched 869 points. Third place was host Franklin & Marshall who had 421 points and Dickinson placed fourth with 329 points. Five through eight respectively were Ursinus (317 points), Washington (291), Bryn Mawr (162.5) and McDaniel (133).
