BARTOW, Fla. – The Washington College softball team dropped a pair of games in its last day in Florida on Friday at Legends Way. In the first game of the day, the Shorewomen were downed by Mount Union, 10-2, and in the second game the team was topped Nichols, 4-1. The Shorewomen are 3-9 on the season.

How It Happened
- Washington scored its two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning as Mia Mavoides socked a two-run double to left-center to score both Nevaeh Unzueta and Julia Weglarz.
- The Purple Raiders responded with a nine-run top of the sixth inning. Mount Union took the lead on a two-run single up the middle that made it 3-2. The nine-run frame was capped on a base hit down the right field line with two away.
- Mount Union added a run in the top of the seventh to provide the final margin.
For The Shorewomen (3-8)
- Hitting: Mavoides (1-for-3, two RBI)
- Pitching: Gen Kozub (loss 1-2, five-plus innings, seven hits, five runs, five earned, two walks, five strikeouts)
- Washington had five hits, worked out one walk and had one reach via hit by pitch, while leaving five on base.
- The Shorewomen had one error in the game, but did not lead to a run.

How It Happened
- Nichols used back-to-back doubles leading off the game for the first run with the run scoring two-bagger going down the left field line.
- Julia Guzman tied the game on a bunt single with two outs that scored Jenna Harper in the top of the second.
- The Bison took the lead for good with a two-run last of the third, netting consecutive run scoring singles through the left side and to center respectively to lead 3-1.
- Nichols tacked on the last run of the game on a two-out base hit to right in the bottom of the sixth.
For The Shorewomen (3-9)
- Hitting: Chloe Trefz (2-for-4), Harper (1-for-3, run), Guzman (1-for-3, RBI)
- Pitching: Emmie Meeks (loss 1-3, complete game, nine hits, four runs, four earned, two walks, zero strikeouts)
- Washington had six hits in the game and drew three walks as it left eight on base.
- The Shorewomen one error in the game, but did not lead to a run for Nichols.
