#17 Red Devils Top Shoremen in CC Opener, 15-8

Carrigan and Dickinson Score Twice and Add Helper for Washington

CARLISLE, Pa. – Host #17 Dickinson raced out to a 9-4 halftime lead on its way to a 15-8 win over visiting Washington College in the Centennial Conference men's lacrosse opener for both sides on Saturday afternoon at Biddle Field. The 17th ranked Red Devils are 4-4 overall and 1-0 in the conference, while the Shoremen are 6-3 and 0-1 respectively.

How It Happened
- Dickinson scored the game's opening three goals, two of them coming on man-up situations, to lead 3-0 with 9:43 left in the opening quarter.
- Cam Carrigan scored unassisted to get Washington onto the board with 8:40 to go in the stanza.
- The Red Devils scored the final two goals of the first to lead 5-1 after one with the final one coming with 12 ticks to go.
- In the second, the Shoremen scored the first two of the quarter to cut the lead to 5-3 with 12:44 remaining before halftime on a Cory Morgan tally.
- Dickinson would respond with the next four to take a 9-3 advantage with 4:00 left before Carrigan netted one with 19 seconds left before intermission to trim the lead to five at the break.
- Washington scored three of the opening five goals of the third quarter to reduce the hosts' lead to four, 11-7, with 7:08 left on a Ben Dickinson unassisted goal. The Red Devils however got the final score of the third with 16 seconds to go to take a 12-7 lead into the fourth.
- The home side outscored the visitors 3-1 in the fourth to provide the final margin.

For The Shoremen (6-3, 0-1 CC)
- Scoring: Carrigan and Dickinson (two goals and assist)
- In Goal: Colin Gray (60:00, 15 goals allowed, 12 saves)
- Patrick Rodgers and Connor Updegraff (two caused turnovers), Ronan Miller (team-best three ground balls)
- Washington had 17 turnovers, caused six Dickinson turnovers and went 1-for-2 on the man-up.
- The Shoremen had 25 shots, were 20-for-22 in clears and won eight face-offs.
