Chestertown, MD – The Washington College Softball Team take on #17 Gettysburg on the road in their first conference matchup. Lilly Cook becomes 30th Shorewomen to earn 100 career hits in a Washington College uniform.

How It Happened
- Gracelyn Goforth recorded the first hit of the game in the top of the first inning. She singled to right field, but was left on base.
- Gettysburg earned four runs in the bottom of the first.
- Lilly Wenzel singled to left field in the top of the second, but could not get home as the last batter of the half inning lined out to left field.
- Gettysburg moved the score to 9-0 in the bottom of the third.
- It was 14-0 in the top of the fifth, Wenzel doubled to left center field, Julia Guzman entered the game to pinch run for her. Julia Weglarz singled to centerfield earning herself an RBI as Guzman scored. Becca Foulk was hit by a pitch putting her on base and moving Weglarz to second. A fielder's choice moved Weglarz to third and she was batted in the next at bat by Gorforth who singled to left field. The Shorewomen could not come back as they were down 14-2 as the final out was recorded in the top of the fifth.

How It Happened
- Lilly Cook recorded the first hit for either team in the top of the first inning. Her single to shortstop put her on base. She was left there as Gettysburg recorded the third out of the inning.
- The Bullets scored three times in the bottom of the inning.
- Jenna Harper singled to right field as the first batter up in the top of the second. Mia Mavoides sacrifice bunted to move Harper to second who then scored on a throwing error by the second baseman. The Shorewomen trailed, 3-1.
- In the top of the third, Gracelyn Goforth doubled to left field. The Cook recorded her 100th career hit with a single through the left side, advancing Goforth to third. Jenna Harper recorded an RBI as she grounded out to the second baseman and sent Goforth home. The Shorewomen scored their second run of the inning thanks to Mia Mavoides who singled to centerfield, sending Cook home. The Shorewomen trailed by one, 4-3.
- Gettysburg would score the last run of the game in the bottom of the fourth to go up 5-3 over the Shorewomen. Julia Weglarz and Chloe Trefz each recorded singles for the Shorewomen in the top of the sixth and seventh innings, respectively, but they could not be batted in. The Shorewomen fell in game two, 5-3
