Chestertown, MD – Washington College Softball splits with the Green Terror of McDaniel. The Shorewomen earned their first Centennial Conference win in game two, 10-5.

How It Happened
- The Shorewomen were down 2-0 before they scored their first run in the bottom of the fourth inning. Chloe Trefz batted in Lilly Wenzel who singled over the second baseman during her at bat. The Shorewomen scored two runs on an error by the second baseman with two outs. Trefz and Julia Guzman both scored on the error, Guzman who earned bases with a single to right field and then stole second. The Shorewomen led 3-2 at the conclusion of the fourth inning.
- In the bottom of the fifth, Lilly Cook tripled to center field to put her in prime scoring position for Wenzel who was up next to bat. Wenzel recorded a sacrifice fly to right field, sending Cook home, and putting the Shorewomen up two, 4-2.
- McDaniel earned one run in the top of both the sixth and the seventh innings as the score was tied, 4-4.
- In the top of the first extra inning, McDaniel earned seven runs to put them up, 11-4.
- In the bottom of the same inning, Jenna Harper batted in Wenzel who was placed on second per the international tie break rule. That would be the last run the Shorewomen would score as they fell in game one, 11-5.

How It Happened
- Chloe Trefz was walked as the first batter up for the Shorewomen. Grecelyn Goforth doubled to left field immediately after to place two Shorewomen in scoring position for Lilly Cook who took full advantage, batting in Trefz, as she singled to right field. The second Shorewomen run came as Lilly Wenzel sacrifice flied to right field sending Goforth home. The Shorewomen led, 2-0.
- McDaniel earned three runs in the top of the third to go up one over the Shorewomen, 3-2.
- The Shorewomen regained the lead in the bottom of the third earning two runs. The tying run was batted in by Julia Weglarz who sacrifice flied to center field sending Goforth home who singled to center field in her at bat. Jenna Harper singled past a diving shortstop to send Cook home who singled to right field in her at bat. The Shorewomen led, 4-3.
- The Shorewomen scored two runs in the bottom of the fourth to put them ahead, 6-3. Trefz singled to the shortstop to start the offense for the Shorewomen. She was batted in as Cook singled to left field. Cook was batted in next as Wenzel followed suit, singling to center field to earn an RBI.
- Jenna Harper batted in run number seven for the Shorewomen in the bottom of the sixth. Her double to left center batted in Cook who reached base on a fielder's choice. The Shorewomen would then score three unearned runs to advance their lead to 10-3 over the Green Terror.
- McDaniel earned two runs in the top of the seventh inning, but the Shorewomen defense recorded the third and final out of the game before they could come back. The Shorewomen took game two and earned their first conference win on the season.
