How It Happened

  • Lilly Wenzel led of the bottom of the second inning with a single to second base. With two outs, Nevaeh Unzueta reached base on a throwing error by the first baseman, allowing Wenzel to score. A single to center field by Shannon Rosche sent Unzueta home and put the Shorewomen up, 2-0. Mia Mavoides sent a double down the left field line sending Rosche home. Mavoides then scored, scoring the fourth run for the Shorewomen as Chloe Trefz reached first base on an error by Haverford's shortstop.
  • The Shorewomen scored again in the bottom of the third as Lilly Cook led the inning off with a single to right field. Wenzel singled as the next batter up moving Cook to second. • In the bottom of the fourth, Mavoides, who was hit by a pitch, Chloe Trefz, who singled, and Cook, who was walked, all sat on base in prime scoring position for Wenzel. Wenzel hit a home run to left field for her second grand slam of the season, putting the Shorewomen up 9-0 over the Fords.
