Mules Best Shoremen, 14-8

Bond and Matthews Score Twice for Washington

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Visiting Washington College opened the game with five unanswered goals, but it was not enough as host Muhlenberg came away with a 14-8 win in Centennial Conference men's lacrosse action on Saturday evening at Scotty Wood Stadium. The Mules are 5-7 overall and 1-2 in the conference, while the Shoremen are 6-6 and 0-4 respectively.

How It Happened
- Washington scored the game's first five goals to take a 5-0 lead with 3:55 to go in the first quarter on a Grant Matthews goal from Cory Morgan. Jake Laubach tallied his first career goal exactly four minutes into the game that put the Shoremen ahead 2-0.
- Muhlenberg scored twice in the final 34 seconds of the opening stanza to cut it to 5-2 after 15 minutes.
- In the second, the Mules scored all three to tie the game at 5-5 with the last score coming 13 seconds to go before halftime.
- The Mules scored the first five of the third to take a 10-5 lead with 4:04 left. Reeve Hargrave would end the 10-goal run with 50 seconds to go in the third to cut the lead to 10-6 and that would be the score entering the fourth
- Muhlenberg held a 4-2 advantage in the fourth to provide the final margin.

For The Shoremen (6-6, 0-4 CC)
- Scoring: Nicky Bond and Matthews (two goals), Laubach (goal and assist)
- In Goal: Will Charvala (45:15, 11 goals allowed, four saves), Colin Gray (14:45, three goals allowed, three saves)
- Connor Updegraff (game-best and career-high four caused turnovers), Ronan Miller (seven face-off wins and five ground balls)
- Washington had 19 turnovers, caused 14 Muhlenberg turnovers and went 0-for-2 on the man-up.
- The Shoremen had 40 shots, 33 ground balls and were 18-for-25 in clears.
