GREENWOOD, Ind. – Two Washington College men's tennis players have been named to the 2024-25 CSC Academic All-District® for men's tennis. Senior
Aaradith Ravichandran (Chennai, India/APL Global School) and sophomore
Tichi Chialva (Cordoba, Argentina/LaSalle HS) were selected to the Academic All-District® team by members of the College Sports Communicators (CSC).
Ravichandran and Chialva were also named to the national ballot and will be eligible to be named a CSC All-America®, which will be announced on June 4.
The team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. To be on the team, a student-athlete must have a GPA (grade-point average) of at least 3.50 and is not rounded up. This is the first time the duo has been named to the team.
Ravichandran, who was named All-Centennial Conference honorable mention in singles on May 9, helped the Shoremen earn a spot in the Centennial Conference Tournament this past spring. He won a career-best 12 matches this season playing primarily at second singles.
The senior is an Economics major and currently has a 3.757 grade-point average.
Chialva earned All-CC first team honors earlier this month in doubles on his way to garnering all-conference recognition for the first time. With teammate, freshman
Sihoo Kim, the duo went 10-5 and that includes a win over a regionally ranked tandem from TCNJ in April.
The sophomore is a Computer Science major and currently has a 3.973 grade-point average.
