Shorewomen Extend Streak to Nine in Picking Up Two Victories

Washington Edges Rutgers-Camden in Five and Tops Lebanon Valley in Three

CHESTERTOWN, Md. – The Washington College volleyball team pushed its winning streak to nine consecutive matches with wins against visiting Rutgers-Camden and Lebanon Valley in a home tri-match on Saturday at Penny J. Fall Gymnasium in non-conference volleyball action. In the first match of the day, the Shorewomen nipped visiting Rutgers-Camden, 3-2 (21-25, 30-28, 25-20, 21-25, 15-13) and in the last match of the day, the Shorewomen downed visiting Lebanon Valley, 3-0 (25-22, 25-13, 25-21). The Shorewomen are now 9-4 on the season.

How It Happened
- Leading 20-19 in the first set, the Scarlet Raptors rolled off five of the final seven points to win the set by four, clinching it on a kill. 
- In the second set, tied at 27-27, the Shorewomen scored three of the last four points to win 30-28. Giselle Kleinbussink tallied the kill to tie the match at a set apiece.
- Washington capped the third set with a 7-1 run to win by five as Gianna Folke provided the finisher to complete the set win.
- Rutgers-Camden won eight of the final 12 points to grab the four-point win and force a fifth set. An attack error by WC was the clinching point.
- The home side held a 14-13 edge in the fifth set when Folke capped the match and win with a kill.

For The Shorewomen (8-4)
- Kleinbussink (15 kills), Allison McKechnie (13 kills, 24 assists and 15 digs), Izzy Diehl (12 kills), Folke (10 kills), Alexis Stubbs (28 assists), Anna Titter (career-best 25 digs and three aces), Lyndsey Wessel (match-best five blocks)
- Team hit .200 in the contest, totaled nine blocks and notched six aces.

How It Happened
- Leading 21-20 in the first set, WC rolled off four of the final six points to win by three as Diehl tallied the kill to end it.
- The Shorewomen raced out to a 17-4 lead in the second set following a hitting miscue by the Flying Dutchmen. McKechnie registered the set clinching kill.
- Washington netted three of the final four points after leading 22-20 to take the third set by four and the match. Folke secured the win with a kill.
 
For The Shorewomen (6-4)

- Diehl (11 kills and three blocks), Stubbs (20 assists), McKechnie (11 assists), Kleinbussin (11 digs and three blocks), Wessel (three blocks)
 - Washington had four aces as the team hit .235.  The Shorewomen had six blocks.

Notes
- In the middle match, Lebanon Valley got past Rutgers-Camden, 3-1 (25-16, 25-13, 19-25, 26-24).
