St. Mary's City, MD- The Washington College Volleyball team take down the Seahawks of St. Mary's in four sets. The Shorewomen gave up the first set by five points and then never relinquished the lead again as they took the next three sets.

How It Happened
- The Shorewomen trailed 3-0 early in the first set. Three kills in a row, two by Giselle Kleinbussink and one by Allison McKechnie, tied the score up, 3-3. St. Mary's began to pull away once up, 6-4. A kill from Izzy Diehl put an end to their run. St. Mary's then outscored the Shorewomen 15-13 to put an end to the first set, 25-20.
- The Shorewomen started the second set in the opposite way, taking a 4-0 lead over St. Mary's early. A 13-9 run, led by Kleinbussink with three kills, put the Shorewomen up 17-9. A kill by St. Mary's put an end to the run, but the Shorewomen only allowed one point as two errors and a kill from McKechnie put the Shorewomen up 10, 20-10. McKechnie and Diehl each put a kill down as the Shorewomen were able to score the last five points while giving away seven to St. Mary's to finish the set ahead, 25-17.
- The third set opened with a 9-2 run for the Shorewomen. Diehl led the way with three kills and Kleinbussink and Emma Shaner each added in two kills to put the Shorewomen up. Back-to-back kills by Diehl and Gianna Folke put the Shorewomen ahead, 12-4. The Shorewomen held a twelve-point lead before St. Mary's began to inch their way back into the game. St. Mary's scored four unanswered to move the score to 20-13, still in favor of the Shorewomen. A timeout for Washington College let the Shorewomen settle and earn a point back. Three errors by the St. Mary's offense gave the Shorewomen their final points of the set as they took the third set, 25-16.
- Three errors and a kill by Diehl assisted by Alexis Stubbs gave the Shorewomen a 4-0 lead to start the fourth set. Two McKechnie kills moved the score to 6-3 early in the set. The Shorewomen extended their lead to 13-4 before St. Mary's had a response, two errors by the Shorewomen moved the score to 13-6. The Shorewomen rallied, scoring five in a row with two aces dished up by Gianna Romano. St. Mary's attempted to go back and forth with the Shorewomen, but the Shorewomen offense won out as they put it away and took the game, 25-15.
