Shoremen Net First Victory of Campaign Over Seahawks, 5-1

Seven Different Players Factor into the Scoring in the Win

ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – Visiting Washington College broke open a 1-0 game with two goals in the final 12:44 of the first half to take a 3-0 lead into halftime on its way to a 5-1 win over host St. Mary's (Md.) on Saturday afternoon in the first day of the Seahawk Classic at Jamie L. Roberts Stadium in a non-conference men's soccer contest.  The Shoremen, who got their first win of the 2025 season, are now 1-2-0 on the season, while the Seahawks are 2-2-0. Seven different Shoremen contributed to the scoring in the win.

How It Happened
- The Shoremen took the lead for good in the 18th minute when Tyler Davidson slotted a shot into the lower right with Simone Perin netting the assist. For Perin, it was his first assist and point as a Shoreman.
- WC scored twice in the final 12:44 of the opening stanza to take a 3-0 lead into the halftime break. Stefanos Georgiou made it 2-0 as his shot found the lower left on a feed from Sixten Nowlan and with 4:34 remaining before the intermission, Nowlan placed a shot to the lower right from Tshazi Kamau.
- Nowlan got his first career assist and point on the second goal and first collegiate score on the third score.
- St. Mary's trimmed the lead to 3-1 7:18 into the second half on a penalty kick.
- The Shoremen would restore their three goal lead versus the host Seahawks in the 65th minute on a Kamau penalty kick.
- Daniel Tufano tallied his first career tally with 18.2 ticks left on a shot into the lower left corner from Michael Daniello to cap the scoring. Daniello notched his first all-time helper and point on the goal.

- Scoring: Kamau and Nowlan (goal and assist), Davidson, Georgiou and Tufano (goal), Daniello and Perin (assist)
- Goalkeeper: Hannes Budde (2 saves, 1 goal allowed, 90:00)
- Washington had 11 shots and took four corner kicks in the contest.

Notes
- The game was delayed in the first half due to lightning.
- The five goals were the most by the Shoremen since scoring six in a 6-1 win over Goucher on September 11, 2019.
