ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – Senior back
Ryan Sharpley (Medford, N.J./Shawnee) scored the only goal of the game from sophomore back
Sixten Nowlan (Grantham, N.H./Kimball Union Academy) with 11:09 to go in the second half to propel Washington College to a 1-0 win over Salisbury on Sunday afternoon in the second day of the Seahawk Classic at Jamie L. Roberts Stadium in a non-conference men's soccer contest that was hosted by St. Mary's (Md.). The Shoremen, who won both games this weekend, are now 2-2-0 on the season, while the Sea Gulls drop to 1-2-2.

How It Happened
- The Shoremen took five shots in the first half with
Jordan Waiganjo and
Tucker Sprano netting WC's two shots on target. But neither side could find the back of the net in the opening 45 minutes as the game went to halftime scoreless.
- Salisbury held a 9-5 advantage in shots with three on goal in the first stanza.
- Washington would score the only goal of the game at the 78:51 mark when Nowlan's throw-in from the left side was headed into the upper right corner of the goal from about eight yards out.
- The Sea Gulls got three shots the rest of the way, including one in the final seconds, but it was off to the right and time ran out. Salisbury had one of three on target in the 82nd minute, but
Hannes Budde was there to stop the shot.
