Swarthmore, PA - The Washington College women's basketball team out defended by the Garnet of Swarthmore, 56-42. The Shorewomen who average 55 points per game were held to 42 points and were shut down behind the three-point line going 0-15.

How It Happened
- Swarthmore held a ten point lead, 18-8 over the Shorewomen at the end of the first quarter. Kaitlyn Boggs scored six of the Shorewomen's points with Maggie Lawrence adding in two.
- Boggs and Emma Robinson teamed up for an 8-4 Shorewomen run to start the second period, they trailed 22-16. Robinson and Peyton Berger scored back-to-back buckets to move their deficit to five points. Swarthmore closed out the quarter with six straight unanswered points to extend their lead, 31-20 over the Shorewomen.
- The Shorewomen came out of the locker room on a tear. Boggs scored the first basket of the half and completed an and one play to put the Shorewomen on the board first. Defense was killer for the Shorewomen as they held Swarthmore to a mere four points in the period. Boggs and Berger closed out the period with baskets to bring the Shorewomen down four, 35-31.
- A layup by Robinson assisted by Boggs put the Shorewomen down four once again, 40-36. The scoring for the rest of the period was pretty even with Swarthmore hitting two free throws to put them up 49-40 with 1:27 remaining. Robinson found Berger underneath the basket with 42 seconds left as the Shorewomen tried to make up the deficit, 49-42. Swarthmore scored seven straight to close the game, up 56-42 over the Shorewomen.
