Shorewomen Tennis Spring Season Preview

The Shorewomen open up competition on 2/14 against Catholic

Chestertown, MD - The Washington College women's tennis team will open up its spring season with a non-conference matchup against Catholic University inside the Johnson Fitness Center at 1:00 PM on February 14th.

Last Season:
The Shorewomen ended the 2025 season as the fourth seed based on the regular season standings. They faced Dickinson in their first-round playoff match but unfortunately fell 4-2. The Shorewomen had two wins in the fall 2025 season, a 5-2 win against Albright and a 5-2 win against Virginia Wesleyan where the Shorewomen swept the doubles matches with Eva Kading and Soleil Namunyola securing the win at No. 1.

Returning for the Shorewomen:
Seniors, Kading and Namunyola return for their final year leading the Shorewomen. The pair earned All-Centennial Conference First Team honors in doubles with Namunyola earning second team honors on the singles side. Fellow senior, Isabella Sorhegui also returns for the Shorewomen after leading the team in wins with 21.

From Head Coach Constantine Ananiadis :
"We couldn't be more excited about the upcoming season!  We've been building towards this year for a while now and we finally have the depth, experience, and ability to compete in our very competitive conference.  Once again we will be led by Soleil, Eva, and Isabella who have been the pillars of our team for the last four years.  But we also have a very talented group of underclassmen who I know will also be huge contributors."

Key Matches:
After the Shorewomen open up their season against Catholic, they will face visiting Stevens the very next day. They will travel to Texas to take on Schreiner and Southwestern during Spring Break. The Shorewomen will face back-to-back ranked opponents on April 7th and 10th as they take on #37 Haverford and #39 Mary Washington, both at home. The Shorewomen will close out the season on April 25th against visiting #25 Swarthmore.
