Arbelaez Tabbed Centennial Conference Player of the Week in Women’s Tennis

Freshman Lands Award for the First Time

LANCASTER, Pa. – Freshman Juanita Arbelaez (Cali, Colombia/Colegio Bolivat) has been named the Centennial Conference Player of the Week in women's tennis for the week of February 9-15 by the conference office. This is the first time the freshman has been picked for the conference's weekly award.

Arbelaez, in her first collegiate matches, won two singles matches and a doubles match for three wins over the weekend. In Saturday's 4-3 win over Catholic, she topped Ella Knox in singles at No. 3, 6-2, 6-2, and in doubles teamed up with Sofia Sperandei to get the better of the Cardinals' tandem of Mairead O'Hara and Ava Niggemeier, 6-2. On Sunday versus Stevens, the freshman topped Stephanie Untemeyer at No. 2 singles, 6-1, 6-1.

She is the first player from Shorewomen Tennis to garner the conference's weekly award since teammate Isabella Sorhegui won it on February 25, 2025.
