Nalty Scores Game-Best 17 Points for Washington

CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Visiting Haverford topped host Washington College, 73-65, on Wednesday night on Finnegan Court in Centennial Conference men's basketball action. The Fords improve to 8-16 overall and 2-10 in the Centennial, while the Shoremen are now 10-14 and 0-12 respectively.

How It Happened
- David Carr Jr. gave Washington its first lead on a layup with 13:25 to go in the opening half at 13-12 that capped an 11-5 run for the Shoremen.
- Trailing 30-26, the Shoremen hit back-to-back threes to retake the lead at 32-30 with 2:13 remaining before halftime on a Jon Nalty three-pointer.
- The Shoremen took a 37-35 advantage to halftime as Nalty drained a three on the last possession of the first half.
- In the second half, Davis Bland put Washington ahead 43-36 2:34 into the stanza on a fast break layup.
- The Fords would respond with an 18-4 run to net a 54-47 advantage with 9:18 remaining on a lay-in.
- Washington countered with the next five points to trim the Haverford lead to 54-52 with 8:10 left on a Jaedon Harris triple.
- Haverford held a 58-56 lead with 5:52 to go before taking control with 13 of the contest's next 15 points to lead 71-58 with 1:52 left. Washington had seven of the last nine points of the night to provide the final margin.

For The Shoremen (10-14, 0-12 CC)
- Nalty (17 points), Harris (15 points and game-high five assists), Max Portnoy (team-best seven rebounds), Carr Jr. (three steals)
- The Shoremen shot 39% (21-for-54) from the floor, 35% (7-for-20) from three-point range and 84% (16-for-19) from the foul line. 
- Washington outscored the Fords in transition points (8-7).
- The Shoremen had 33 rebounds and nine turnovers in the game.
