COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. – Visiting Washington College took the lead for good on a three-point play by senior center
Kaitlyn Boggs (Linwood, N.J./Mainland Regional) with 1:23 to go in the fourth quarter at 54-51 on its way to a 58-55 win against host Ursinus on Saturday afternoon at Helfferich Hall in Centennial Conference women's basketball action to clinch a spot in the CC Tournament for the fifth straight season. The Shorewomen are now 13-12 overall and finish CC play at 8-7, while the Bears are now 15-10 on the season and finish conference play at 9-6.
The Shorewomen earned the six seed and will travel to third seeded Ursinus for the second time in four days on Tuesday night. Game time will be announced on Monday.

How It Happened
- The Shorewomen led 8-7 with 3:55 to go in the first quarter on a Boggs layup before the Bears netted five of the final seven points to take a 12-10 lead after one.
- In the second, Washington trailed 15-10 before rolling off 12 of the next 16 points to take a 22-19 advantage with 3:08 to go on a three-pointer by
Peyton Berger. The Shorewomen took a 24-21 edge into halftime as
Maggie Lawrence capped the scoring in the second on a second chance lay-in with four ticks to go.
- Ursinus outscored Washington 21-16 in the third to take a 42-40 edge into the fourth quarter.
- In the fourth with the game knotted at 51-51, Boggs rebounded the miss of a shot and converted the putback layup and was fouled. The senior canned the free throw to complete the conventional three-point play to make it 54-51 with 1:23 remaining.
- WC led 54-53 following two misses from the foul line by Ursinus and Boggs converted a lay-in with 15 ticks to go to make it 56-53.

Abby Meredith made a free throw to push the lead to 57-53 before Ursinus canned a layup with four seconds to go to trim the lead to 57-55.
- Meredith was fouled with three-tenths of a second to go and made one from the line to wrap up the Shorewomen victory.

- WC shot 40% from the floor (21-for-52), 25% from three-point range (2-for-8) and 58% (14-for-24) from the foul line in the game.
- The Shorewomen turned it over 16 times, totaled nine steals and grabbed 38 rebounds.
- WC outscored Ursinus in points in the paint, 30-28, and second chance points, 17-13.
