Shoremen Walk-Off Ospreys in OT, 10-9

DuPuis Nets Winner From Gestole 84 Seconds into Extra Period

CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Junior Jack Dupuis (Alexandria, Va./Episcopal) scored the game-winning goal on the man-up from junior Peyton Gestole (Sudlersville, Md./Queen Anne's County) with 2:36 left in the overtime session to give host Washington College a 10-9 win over visiting Stockton on Wednesday afternoon on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby Jr. Stadium. The Shoremen and the Ospreys are both now 6-2 on the season.

How It Happened
- The Shoremen, who scored all three goals in the first quarter, scored the first goal of the second quarter on a man-up tally by Nate Winters from Gestole with 12:57 to go in the second for a 4-0 lead.
- Stockton would score three of the next four goals to cut the Washington to 5-3 at halftime.
- In the third, the Ospreys scored twice in 50 seconds to level the game at 5-5.
- Washington would outscore the visitors 4-1 the rest of the stanza to take a 9-6 lead into the fourth.
- The Ospreys scored all three in the fourth in the span of 3:50 to level it at 9-9 with 1:59 to go. Stockton had a chance in the final 2.9 seconds, but the clock expired before the shot was taken and the game headed to overtime.
- After a penalty by Stockton, Washington got the ball into the attack zone and from the slot Dupuis placed the winner inside the left post with Gestole recording the assist for the walk-off winner.

For The Shoremen (6-2)
- Scoring: Winters (game-high four goals), Dupuis (two goals and assist), Carson Crawford (goal and two assists), Gestole (two assists)
- In Goal: Keegan Dunn (61:24, nine goals allowed, 14 saves to set personal-best)
- Crawford (four ground balls and three caused turnovers), Owen Boone and Connor Updegraff (four ground balls and two caused turnovers)
- Washington registered 38 shots, was 21-for-23 in clears in the contest and grabbed 37 ground balls.
- The Shoremen, who went 2-for-4 on the man-up, had 17 turnovers, while causing 10 Stockton turnovers.

Notes
- It was the team's first overtime win since a 7-6 extra session win against Oneonta State on March 7, 2016.
