CHESTERTOWN, Md. – Junior attackman
Peyton Gestole (Sudlersville, Md./Queen Anne's County) scored the golden goal with 1:36 left in the third overtime session from junior midfielder
Jack Dupuis (Alexandria, Va./Episcopal) to give host Washington College a 10-9 win over visiting #11 Dickinson in the Centennial Conference opener for both teams in men's lacrosse competition on Saturday afternoon on Kibler Field at Roy Kirby Jr. Stadium. The Shoremen are now 7-2 overall and 1-0 in the Centennial, while the 11th ranked Red Devils slip to 6-2 and 0-1 respectively.
It was the Shoremen's first win over Dickinson since a 16-12 away result on April 12, 2014, the first home win in the series since a 14-3 victory on March 26, 2005, both spanning 10 games, and the first win over a ranked squad since downing #20 Gettysburg, 18-14, on April 27, 2024.

How It Happened
- The Red Devils scored the game's first two goals to take a 2-0 lead with 4:12 remaining in the first quarter.

Tuck Levanis got the Shoremen on the board with 58 seconds left in the first to cut the deficit to 2-1 after one.
- In the second, Gestole tied the game with 12:11 to go and
Jake Laubach put the Shoremen ahead 3-2 with 9:13 remaining. Washington, who scored all five in the second quarter, took a 6-2 lead into halftime with
Aiden Ventura scoring from
Luca Signorello with 1:03 left for the final goal of the stanza.
- Dickinson would tally three of the next four goals to cut the lead to 7-5 with 4:37 left in the third.
- After a Washington goal made it 8-5, the visitors scored the last two of the third to reduce the lead to 8-7 after three.
- The guests scored the first two of the fourth to take their first lead since early in the second quarter with 8:45 to go at 9-8.

Carson Crawford would even things up with 3:58 remaining on unassisted goal. It was Washington's only shot of the fourth.
- The Red Devils got three shots off in the final 40 seconds with one being saved by Shoremen goalie
Keegan Dunn and two off target as the game would go to overtime.
- Both teams had one shot in the first overtime, but neither team could score and it would go to the second OT.
- In the second extra session, the Red Devils held a 4-1 edge in shots, but all five were off the mark and the game would move on to a third golden goal period.
- Dickinson had the first shot of the third overtime period, but it was blocked as Washington forced a clock violation. Following a timeout by Washington, Dupuis found Gestole for the winner from about 15 yards out into the upper right corner for the walk-off goal.

- Washington, which was outshot by Dickinson 54-18, went 1-for-3 on the man-up, was 26-for-28 in clears in the contest and grabbed 26 ground balls.
